Matthew 1:20 ESV
But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 10:26 ESV
“So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
Matthew 10:28 ESV
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:31 ESV
Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
This is linked with the idea of being murdered. In vs. 28, we are told to not fear those who can kill the body, but to fear the one who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Then, He talks about the hairs on our heads being numbered and being of value. Finally, in vs. 31, He talks about our value dictating our security and lack of fear.
Matthew 17:7 ESV
But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.”
This is immediately after the transfiguration. Their eyes are closed because of the glory of what they had just seen, then Jesus tells them to “Rise and have no fear”. When they open their eyes, He is standing their alone.
